I used Strava for years but when it started <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cyclingnews.com\/news\/the-strava-price-rise-controversy-what-happened-and-how-much-will-it-be-now\/\">jacking up prices<\/a> a couple of years ago I realized it had never been worth the price even before the price nearly doubled. Sure, ti\u2019s fun to see how you stack up on segments against a bunch of people you don\u2019t know (and likely never will), but is that \u201cfun\u201d worth paying for? Maybe a couple bucks a month. Maybe.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The price hikes were what broke my Strava spell and since then it has only become more clear that Strava is a case study in enshittification. They get everyone hooked on the \u201cfun\u201d social gamification of running and cycling, then start hiding all of that behind a paywall, then start raising prices, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dcrainmaker.com\/2024\/11\/stravas-changes-to-kill-off-apps.html\/comment-page-1\">bullying the competition<\/a>, and generally being hostile to users.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Whatever.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bye, Strava.
