« Where is the love?
If you think you’re drowning, stand up. The water’s not that deep. »

A person can work up a mean, mean thirst after a hard day of nothin’ much at all.

Just a quick post-bar update: I’m back in Billings so yesterday I mowed the lawn, dug up our “pond,” (don’t ask), watered the lawn, and cooked out on our new grill. L’s brother (who just finished the bar himself) just arrived so we’re heading off for a weekend in the mountains. It’s supposed to include “whitewater rafting” and a lot of great scenery and fresh air (so long as we stay away from all the fires), so it should be fun. Oh, and I’m not taking a single book with me. Take that, BarBri!

p.s.: I cannot believe that Floyd Landis was doping. I refuse to believe it. I’m serious. He’s a professional monster athlete and his testosterone just totally shot up abnormally under the stress and anger and determination of the biggest stage of his life. That’s how I explain those test results, anyway. He better be exonerated, is all I’m saying. I’m really counting on it. [tags]tour de france[/tags]

Even though you’ve more than earned it, I’m totally jealous of your mountain adventure. While you’re in the mountainy wonderland, I will still be sitting here trying to finish this cursed article. Cursed, I say!

Glad to hear you survived! Additionally, I have to give you vast props for one of my fav. Replacement lines of all time.

It’s been a busy and uncertain summer for you. Remember when you just flat out moved with out a job lined up? Seems like you’re in the right place now.

p.s. - I haven’t followed the Landis affair closely (haven’t followed anything closely but insurance law (ack)). But it was a hormone ratio that was off, right? I’d think that could mean hormone A was low, hormone B was high, or both A and B were off a bit. And given that he is one of the naturally strongest out there, is on thyroid medication, is riding bone on bone, and was tested after what was one of the most grueling rides on record, well, it just seems completely within the bounds of possibility that his system was just a bit out of whack. Unf. regardless of what shows up later in testing, he’s probably never going to shake the rumor.
