Sorry I can't be of assistance with your move. Or your roof. Seems like only yesterday we were ripping the one off your place in Urbana eh? Strange synchronicity to life. Seriously though, screw that seller if they won't move on the roof. Frankly, that they didn't say anything before hand isn't all that great a thing either. It'd be a hassle I know but it's not an auspicious beginning to move into a house sold by someone who can't be honest (or at least competent. who would sell a house without having it inspected first so that you could spot problems like this?).
