Thinking http://www.abovethela…

Thinking http://www.abovethelaw.com/ is a serious waste of time. Is anyone more snide and pompous than a bunch of “civil” attorneys?

  1. Civil is where the action is at, bro. I love working in civil (and yes, I am back working civil AND going to law school part-time).

Best of all–it’s the good kind of civil. Not the ambulance chasing kind of civil, but the… oh crud. I can’t talk about it. :-(

    Darn you, security clearance!

  2. Yeah, there’s good stuff to do in the civil sphere, I get that and I would love to do some of it myself given the right opportunity. Twitter was not the right venue for it, but what I was trying to get at is the tone of so many of the “lawyer” blogs and discussion boards — mean, snarky, holier than thou, competitive, crass, and obsessed with $$$$. It’s wrong to generalize and say that all civil attorneys are that way, but it’s ironic that some civil attorneys (those who apparently enjoy frequenting sites like ATL) can be so uncivil.

Congrats on your new pursuits. I hope it goes well for you!

  3. I look at ATL as sort of the Perez Hilton of law… it’s entertaining at times, but if I read it too often, my eyes hurt.
