Yesterday was the first day I didn’t go into the office or do any work work for weeks. I may never have appreciated past presidents quite so much. I love my job. I do. But sometimes, a bit of a break is really priceless. I’ll post here again in about a month1 when I’m finished with the four trials I currently have scheduled between now and then.
- sooner, I hope, but who knows?↩

And then think about your other classmates who took associate jobs in law firms and will be stuck behind their desks for the next 5-10 years doing shit work for jerk partners, and who won’t see the inside of a courtroom unless they’re lucky enough to get home before 9pm to watch Boston Legal.
Anyhow, I need your address so I can get your Bar Bri stuff back to you. I sent an email to one of your email accounts but I didn’t hear back so I’m not sure if you check it anymore.
Good luck with your trials! Let us know how they went!
Good luck on the trials, I am assuming your more recent posts mean at least some plead (pled, or pleaded or whatever way you spell it where you are).
Dude: You are correct! I had my first trial a bit after that post — 2 misdemeanor assaults we lost on both counts. I took some satisfaction from the fact that all but one of my colleagues predicted the outcomme b/c the facts were just that bad, yet we were still able to make the jury stay out over an hour before it convicted. That’s not very long, but hey, it’s better than the 15 minutes they could have taken. I at least gave them a little to think about, so I don’t call it a total failure.
The next trial I continued and it probably won’t end up going, the third we got a sweet deal on and the guy is finally out of jail, and the fourth has also been continued b/c of shenanigans by the state. So it goes…
